So, who is Hospital Welfare?

Founded in 1942, Hospital Welfare began with a simple but powerful mission: to care for Muslim patients with dignity and compassion. Over more than eight decades, it has grown into a trusted community institution, expanding from hospital welfare into education, social upliftment, and advocacy during some of South Africa’s most challenging years.

Guided by the belief that education and service can transform lives, Hospital Welfare has supported generations of students, families, and vulnerable communities — regardless of race, creed, or gender. Driven almost entirely by volunteers, the organisation continues to serve with integrity, accountability, and a deep commitment to humanity.
